Acadeum Course Share allows eligible Harrisburg University (HU) undergraduate students to take approved online courses from other accredited institutions when HU does not offer the course in the required term. These courses count toward your HU degree and appear on your HU transcript—just like a regular HU course—once completed and approved.

What Is Acadeum?

Acadeum is a network of colleges and universities that share online courses with one another. Through this partnership, HU can offer you additional course options when:

  • A course is not offered in the term you need it
  • Or you need a specific course to stay on track for graduation.

You remain a HU student, but temporarily take an approved course at another institution through HU’s partnership with Acadeum.

How the Process Works

  1. Talk With Your Academic Advisor
    Explain why you need the course and confirm it fits your degree plan. You can review Acadeum course offerings using this link: Acadeum Course Share | Available Online College Courses 
  2. Create Acadeum Account

Create your Acadeum account using this link: Harrisburg University of Science and Technology Approved Online Transfer Courses

  1. Official Request Submission
    Complete the Acadeum Course Request e-form which can be found on MyHU > Academics Tab > E-forms: E-Forms | Academics | MyHU
  2. Acadeum Registration 
    Once the request has been reviewed and approved, Records and Registration will update the student's schedule with the Acadeum course added under its HU equivalency designation. The course will appear on the student's MyHU schedule and unofficial transcript, and financial aid will capture the enrollment accordingly.
  3. Course Completion & Transcript
    Once the course is finished, HU receives the grade and posts it to your HU transcript Standard HU tuition rates apply.

Important Reminders

  • Not all Acadeum courses are approved—each request is reviewed individually.
  • Acadeum courses are completed using the Learning Management System of the teaching institution. In other words, you will not use HU’s Canvas platform to complete your Acadeum course.
  • You are responsible for completing the course on time and meeting all requirements of the teaching institution.
  • You must maintain contact with your HU advisor during the course.
